What We Do

Our Mission

The Boys & Girls Clubs, Fairfax County, is committed to helping boys and girls of all backgrounds, with an emphasis on at the youth who need us most, build confidence, develop character and acquire the skills needed to become productive, civic minded, responsible adults. We are committed to providing a fun, safe, positive place for kids. We deliver effective programs, through collaborative partnerships, and have become an integral part of the network of services for youth in Fairfax County.

Our Purpose

The Boys & Girls Club provides a safe place to learn and to grow, an ongoing relationship with caring, adult professional and life-enhancing programs and character development experiences.

Boys & Girls Clubs

  1. Are for boys & girls. We satisfy the age-old desire of boys and girls to have a "club of their own." The clubs are a positive place for kids to go.

  2. Have full-time professional leadership supplemented by part-time workers and volunteers, who are trained in youth development.

  3. Accept all interested members, regardless of race, creed , color, or economic status.

  4. Assure that all girls and boys can afford to belong. Membership dues are kept low ($25 per year) so that all youth can afford to participate. No child has ever been turned away for lack of dues.

  5. Are program centered. Activities are conducted in the warm, friendly atmosphere designed for youth programs.

  6. Have an open door policy. Clubs are open to all members at any time after school, during those critical latchkey hours.

  7. Have a varied and diversified program that recognizes and responds to the collective and individual needs of boys and girls of all age groups.

  8. Are guidance oriented. Clubs emphasize values inherent in the relationships between young people, their peers and adult leaders. They help boys and girls make appropriate and satisfying choices while respecting the needs and rights of others.
